These are the steps you have to take to make money online as an affiliate.

Step One

Decide who you want to represent.

You can do this two ways. One is to make a decision on a particular product that you have used and love, and find out how to become an affiliate for it. The other is to join an affiliate base company, such as clickcbank [don't join these people unless you are going to spend a lot of time selling their stuff, otherwise, if your account does not receive income they will TAKE ALL YOUR EARNINGS without warning. It's part of their contract, in tiny small letters.], LinkShare [I highly recommend these people, they don't have minimum payments and pay as soon as you reach it, plus they won't take away your hard earned cash no matter how long your account is not active.] or commissionjunction [not my first choice, they will disable your account if you don't receive commissions after a few months], search their products and decide which products to represent.

There are benefits to both these methods.

The first method has the benefit that it is a product or service that you like, have used and know everything about.  This will make it much easier to market.

The second method also has benefits. The main one being that you can represent several companies in the one place and have one monthly check for payments rather than have to wait until one of them reaches the minimum paid out amount.

Step Two

Decide if you will have landing pages or website or blog. One thing to keep in mind is that only clickbank will allow you to represent companies without a website or blog.  Most of the companies in LinkShare , CommissionJunction and other affiliate bases will require you to have an active and fully functional webpage before they accept you as an affiliate.

Step Three

After you have prepared all the landing pages, you need to decide if you are going to be doing free marketing for it or paid marketing.  You can download a free online marketing for free manual from my member's section.

Work hard for a few months to get it all set up and going, then relax ;)
